Widney Transport Components is a supplier of specialist commercial vehicle glass and sliding window solutions. The company supplies solutions to the bus and train industry and is the only local accredited sliding window supplier for Toyota, Daimler Chrysler, General Motors, Nissan and Ford.
Job Title: Accountant - Alberton, Johannesburg
Main job purpose
To support the business by generating, analysing and reporting financial information to relevant stakeholders in order for the business to make informed business decisions while also ensuring that all relevant information (production and financial) from suppliers and sites is obtained and inputted into the APDP SAP system accurately and timeously in order to uphold Widney's good standing with and compliance to ITAC regulations to maximise cash flow that will result in overall sustainability and profitability.
Main Objectives
• Generate and report on various financial results to ensure that the business has accurate data to make informed decisions.
• To ensure that the business adheres to all internal policies and procedures as well as all relevant external legislation and good corporate governance on an ongoing basis.
• To ensure the costing structure is regularly reviewed to optimise profitability for the business.
• Support finance in compiling the budget and forecasts; and monitor expenditure against targets to minimise overspend.
• Manage the petty cash for the business by controlling the float, processing vouchers and ensuring that all related documentation is submitted within the agreed timeframe, in order to replenish the float and ensure business continuity.
• Liaise with various stakeholders and departments to obtain information, investigate issues identified and facilitate action plans to improve financial performance and profit margins on a weekly and monthly basis.
• To comply with customer service level requirements for SMD and C1/C2 certificates to OEM's by producing quarterly SMD certificates for auditor and ITAC use.
• Liaison with Shared Services, Shatterprufe, Toyota, Wispeco, Baires, Coastland Sales, KPMG, and all APDP component suppliers for documentation flow aligned to set ITAC regulations and guidelines for maximising cash flow in order to keep the business financially stable.
• Audit certificates for C1s, in terms of ITAC requirements by liaising with auditors to ensure all legal/ admin related requirements are met and maintained.
• To maximise cash flow for APDP claims to drive sustainability.
• Complete and renew EPC certificate with ITAC as and when required in order to maximise the cash flow.
• To run receipts and sales updates and check claim runs to maximise recovery amounts by submitting duty Drawback OEM claim reports.
• Responsible and accountable for government and other incentives by ensuring that the claim process is correctly completed.
• Ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support effective decision making for the business.

Grade 12
Knowledge
