BI & Data Reporting Administrator

PG Building Glass is Southern Africa’s leading distributor of float, mirror and PG SmartGlass® products. Solutions supplied include glass that keeps out intruders, sound, heat, ultraviolet light and cold as well as glass that comes in a wide range of decorative finishes, colours, patterns, and images.

Main Job Purpose

Provide accurate and timely  information to  business decision makers in a user friendly and informative manner.

Main Objectives

• Maintain the existing reporting environment using SAP BI in order to provide the business decision makers with timely and accurate information.
• Respond to various ad hoc requests for information using the appropriate reporting systems, analyse and produce the required information in a neat and logical format.
• Design new reports and dashboards by gathering business requirements and translate that into meaningful information. Displayed in an efficient and smart report.
• Incorporate disparate new data sets into the central data warehouse by using the appropriate technology tools provided by the business to facilitate easy use and access of data by the end user.
• Use the above new data to generate further reports and information for business as and when requested by line management for managements consumption and analysis.
• Develop, maintain, synchronise and manage the central data warehouse (currently maintained in SQL) by using the appropriate technology to ensure that all the information contained therein is up to date.

Critical Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Matric
• Diploma in Business Administration, IT or relevant field

Knowledge

• Business processes
• Appreciation of the difference between data and information
• Microsoft Sequel (SSAS tabular model)
• Understanding of commerce and business in general
• Microsoft Excel

Skills

• Microsoft Power BI
• Ability to work with people to deliver the value promised by technology tool
• Excellent communication skills to manage the deadlines and inevitable pressure
• SAP Business Warehouse
• Ability to work accurately and within deadline

Experience

• 5 years proven experience as analyst with business reporting
• Aptitude for visual dashboard and report design
