Main Job Purpose

The Consumable Stores Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the consumable stores, ensuring efficient inventory management, stock accuracy, and the timely issuing of consumables to support production and operational requirements.

Main Objectives

  • Conduct regular stock counts to maintain optimal consumable levels, preventing shortages, excess inventory, unnecessary waste, and production line stoppages.

  • Monitor and improve stock accuracy through cycle counts and audits.

  • Ensure all received stock is processed and stored accurately within agreed timeframes in line with inventory control procedures.

  • Inspect damaged stock, supervise cages, ensure correct stock returns and binning, and manage urgent put-aways from goods received.

  • Maintain product integrity through adherence to warehousing best practices and customer KPI requirements.

  • Oversee the receiving, storage, and issuing of consumables while maintaining accurate records in line with company policies.

  • Communicate timeously with suppliers regarding stock shortages or discrepancies to support customer order fulfilment.

  • Ensure adherence to work instructions, site rules, and efficiency standards.

  • Monitor and control in-transit stock accounts and investigate discrepancies daily.

  • Drive 5S and safety practices to meet company safety objectives and reduce incidents.

  • Communicate relevant operational information effectively to stakeholders.

  • Manage, develop, mentor, and hold staff accountable through performance and disciplinary processes.
