Main Job Purpose

To monitor and manage debtor accounts to ensure payments are received in line with the Group’s credit policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately allocate and reconcile payments to ensure debtor accounts are up to date.
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments, including bordereaux clients, to ensure timely settlement of accounts.
• Investigate overdue accounts and take appropriate action to minimise risk.
• Ensure customers comply with agreed credit terms and limits for effective account management.
• Generate exposures when required and resolve account queries before month-end.
• Assist with financial year-end processes and audits by providing accurate and relevant information.
• Provide support to the business by resolving account-related queries promptly while maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Communicate relevant financial information effectively to stakeholders to support decision-making.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Grade 12
• Diploma in Credit Management or equivalent (preferred)

Knowledge

• Understanding of the National Credit Act
• Basic accounting principles
• SAP system knowledge

Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Analytical and problem-solving ability
• Attention to detail with a proactive approach
• Strong business writing skills
• Ability to handle situations with diplomacy and tact

Experience

• 3 to 5 years’ experience in a Credit Controller role
