A vacancy for Engineering Co-ordinator has arisen at our Shatterprufe Neave Plant in Gqeberha. This is a Junior Manager position reporting to the Engineering Manager.
Main job purpose
To manage and control engineering activities, not limited to but inclusive of scheduled maintenance, breakdown maintenance, mini projects, engineering spares, and safety in order to achieve maximum machine up-time and world class engineering standards.
Main Objective
Lead an Engineering maintenance team and ensure optimal machine up-time through proactive maintenance within specified lead times in order to improve production output.
Ensure that breakdowns are responded to within stipulated time frames to ensure minimal downtime and to maximize plant productivity.
Conduct root cause analysis in order to determine root cause of the breakdown and to prevent recurrence.
To ensure staff are effectively managed and held accountable through performance and disciplinary procedures, and that staff are developed and mentored through the talent management and IDP processes to drive capability in business.
Propose improvements and alterations to machinery and equipment to ensure quality and productions volumes are optimized.
Drive safety in area of responsibility and ensure 100% compliance with all safety procedures and policies.
Monitor costs associated with Contractors, energy, waste, material, maintenance, spares and reworks to ensure that costs do not exceed budget parameters.
Ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support effective decision making for the business.
To ensure staff are effectively managed and held accountable through performance and disciplinary procedures, and that staff are developed and mentored to drive capability in the business.

Grade 12
National Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
Knowledge
SCADA Computer packages
PLC
Understanding of electrical and Thyristor drives
Strong working knowledge of instrumentation / automation (e.g. robotics, CNC machines, controllers, digital and analogue automation)
