Widney Transport Components is a supplier of specialist commercial vehicle glass and sliding window solutions. The company supplies solutions to the bus and train industry and is the only local accredited sliding window supplier for Toyota, Daimler Chrysler, General Motors, Nissan and Ford.
Main job purpose
- To lead and direct the finance team in order to manage and control the overall financial performance of the business by executing Group financial strategies; adhering to all policies, procedures and other relevant legislation and taking overall accountability for driving company profitability to ensure sustainability of the business.
Main Objective
- To play a proactive role in driving business profitability through analysis and interpretation of financial reporting, ensuring cost drivers and profit opportunity are well understood and managed.
- Ensure quarterly reviews to provide support to operation and ensure early identification of problem areas and escalation when necessary.
- To drive sound financial compliance and corporate governance through conducting internal and external audits and all finding are closed off in specified time frames.
- To ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures including legislation and new industry developments as well as compliance with Group financial policies and procedures.
- To ensure monthly and annual financial reports compiled and submitted to deadline.
- To interpret and analyse financial reports for the business to advise on improvement opportunities and support necessary business decision making.
- To actively manage the preparation of the company budget, forecasts and 3 year strategic plans to drive business performance.
- To highlight and report variances from the established budget, reasons for variances and drive a culture that budgets must be met with full ownership from management team.
- To actively drive accurate costing and pricing control to ensure sustainable profitability and competitive edge in the market.
- To be accountable for the overall management and control of the warehouse by ensuring total optimisation through effective implementation of international best practices and costs and profit margins are achieved with intervention where appropriate.
- To ensure staff are effectively managed and held accountable through performance and disciplinary procedures, and that staff are developed and mentored through the talent management and IDP processes to drive capability in business.
- To ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support effective decision making for the business.
Critical job requirements
- Grade 12
- BCom degree in Accounting
- 8 years experience in Finance
- 3 years Management experience
- 5 years experience in a related industry
Knowledge
- Knowledge of importing and exporting of goods
- Knowledge of strategic planning
- Relevant legal requirements
- Sound IFRS knowledge
- Knowledge of CPA (Consumer Protection Act)
