Main job purpose
- To provide support to the laboratory with conducting scientific investigations (chemical and physical) by undertaking a range of routine tasks and experiments to ensure product alignment to specifications.
Main Objective
- Responsible for auditing all processes in order to enhance production performance by identifying process weaknesses and failures and providing recommendations on improvements.
- Full responsibility for the coordination of the entire Shatterprufe product certification program by carrying out all necessary compliance testing and submitting documents to international certification authorities for product registration and trademark approval to ensure SX alignment to quality and standards and requirements.
- Responsible for planning setting up and undertaking development testing as required for OE approval to meet internal and external customer requirements.
- Responsible for liaising with customers on any issues identified with the products and provide recommendations for corrective action in order to minimise customer complaints and risks for the organisation.
- To maintain and update the data base on a regular basis to ensure information is readily available for information sharing and problem solving purposes.
- To ensure internal testing and test required for OE approvals are conducted appropriately, and to ensure testing of expired stock and management thereof to ensure product compliance.
- To ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support effective decision making for the business.
Critical job requirements
- Grade 12
- BSc majoring in Chemistry or Physical Chemistry or Physics
- 3 years analytical chemistry experience
- 2 years manufacturing experience
Knowledge
- Management of a data base within technical department (information management)
- Intermediate level Microsoft Office
- Keeping up to date with relevant scientific and technical developments within the chemistry field
