Widney Transport Components is a supplier of specialist commercial vehicle glass and sliding window solutions. The company supplies solutions to the bus and train industry and is the only local accredited sliding window supplier for Toyota, Daimler Chrysler, General Motors, Nissan and Ford.

Job Title: Maintenance Assistant - Alberton

Main job purpose

To assist with general maintenance of production machinery, maintenance of all plant and factory equipment and to assist with general maintenance timeously. Attending to breakdowns and minimize plant downtime.

Main Objective

• Equipment and Tool Handling: Assisting artisans with the installation, repair, and maintenance of plant machinery and transport component equipment.
• Component Cleaning and Preparation: Cleaning parts, stripping basic, non-complex components, and preparing workspaces.
• General Maintenance: Performing basic building maintenance, painting, and cleaning of equipment as directed by work instructions.
• Housekeeping and Safety: Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and internal standards. Sweeping, cleaning the workshop floor, and ensuring tools are safeguarded.
• Material Handling: Handling heavy materials and moving parts across the manufacturing floor.
