Quality Coodinator

Shatterprufe® is the leading manufacturer and distributor of OE Auto and aftermarket replacement glass products. The company manufactures genuine Shatterprufe® laminated windscreens and Armourplate® toughened automotive safety glass products. Three automotive glass plants manufacture over 4 million pieces of laminated and toughened glass a year for customers worldwide. Shatterprufe® products are installed by Original Motor manufacturers in Southern Africa.

Main job purpose

To drive quality control and reduction of damages in the Warehouse by tracking and tracing quality issues, identifying and implementing corrective measures to address issues, and to provide feedback back to the Plant and stakeholders to drive quality satisfaction in line with quality and customer specifications

Main Objective

To identify, investigate and assist in resolution of quality related customer complaints, to ensure overall customer satisfaction is achieved; and organisation brand integrity is up-held.

To compile and issue detailed reports to management and customers on customer complaint findings to clarify completed actions and/or proposed solutions so as to maintain contact with customer and to maintain customer satisfaction.

Control the quarantine area via cycle counts to ensure no stock write off's and to minimise turnaround times for stock on quarantine to manage risk for the business.

To investigate and fix quality in the warehouse and implement measures (related to reworks and new products, including training) to address the identified quality issues to reduction in losses and to drive customer satisfaction. 

To identify, investigate and address all maintenance issues related to machinery and the Facility to drive optimal productivity and to improve efficiency of service offering in line with OSHAct requirements.      

Ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support effective decision making in the business.

To ensure staff are effectively managed and held accountable through performance and disciplinary procedures, and that staff are developed and mentored to drive capability in the business

Critical job requirements

• Grade 12
• Quality Management Diploma or equivalent
• Product Knowledge
• Knowledge of specifications for all Markets (Export, OE, ARG)
• 3 years in a similar role within Operational Quality
• 3 years experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry
