Main Job Purpose

 

To drive profitable sales growth and increase market share by developing, retaining, and servicing customer accounts through proactive customer engagement, cross- and upselling opportunities, new business development, and exceptional customer service across the glazing, hardware, and aluminium fabrication markets.

 

Main Objective

 

  • Drive sales growth and increase market share by identifying, developing, and converting new business opportunities within the glazing, hardware, and aluminium fabrication markets.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective customers through regular customer engagement, exceptional service delivery, and effective complaint resolution.
  • Grow and retain customer accounts through cross-selling, upselling, increased purchasing frequency, and customer loyalty initiatives.
  • Develop and manage relationships with independent hardware stores, hardware chains, and key customers to support regional and national sales objectives.
  • Execute sales strategies to maximise product volume, market penetration, customer retention, and profitability within the assigned territory.
  • Ensure the successful implementation, management, and communication of customer deals and promotional activities to meet customer expectations and business objectives.
  • Adhere to approved pricing structures and commercial guidelines, ensuring pricing accuracy, compliance, and appropriate escalation of special pricing requests.
  • Gather, analyse, and communicate market intelligence, including competitor activities, pricing trends, customer movements, new market opportunities, and product demand trends.
  • Increase market visibility and brand presence by promoting company products, supporting marketing initiatives, and participating in industry and customer events.
  • Identify potential national account opportunities and collaborate with management to expand business relationships and revenue streams.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, quotations, sales pipelines, deal files, call reports, territory reviews, and CRM (Skynamo) updates to support effective sales planning and reporting.
  • Plan and conduct customer visits to identify opportunities, strengthen relationships, and achieve sales and service performance targets.
  • Ensure proper recordkeeping, administration, and audit readiness of customer and deal documentation to support operational continuity and customer satisfaction.

 

Critical job requirements 

Qualification (s)

 

  • Grade 12.
  • Diploma/Degree in Sales and Marketing or a related field.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel daily within the assigned territory.

Experience

 

  • 3- 5 years sales and marketing experience in building glass.
  • Experience in the glass, aluminium, hardware, or building materials industries, including selling into informal markets and developing new customer accounts.
  • Fluent in English and the local language(s) spoken in the designated area.
  • Fluency in Afrikaans will be advantageous.
  • SAP knowledge and strong selling, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills.
