Main job purpose
Responsible for coordinating the Specifications Analysts and effectively supporting the maintenance of existing products and introduction of new products by ensuring the execution of the CAD drawing function based on customer requirements and needs; and to ensure drawings and specifications are generated through the evaluation of CAD drawings, 3D scanning and physical samples for internal and external customers.
Main Objective
Responsible for coordinating the day-to-day functioning of the team and driving outputs to meet overall Product Engineering objectives.
Responsible for coordinating the effective introduction and maintenance of new products by assessing and evaluating incoming new parts for introduction to the business ensuring accurate and timeous completion of CEF documents.
Ensure all relevant stakeholders support and participate in the feasibility review of the introduction of new products in conjunction with the affected site to support decision making.
To coordinate and manage the CAD drawings, checking for the accuracy thereof, part art works and trademarks within defined timeframes and required format to support the business.
To coordinate and managing the compiling, verifying and updating of product specification for parts to ensure the availability of specification for production when needed.
Responsible for controlling the receipt, movement and storage of samples in a manner that preserves their identity and integrity over time as well as proper handling and storage of sample inline with company standards.
To arrange and coordinate the supplying to site the master part/ component sample for storage retention in line with company standards and requirements.
Effectively communicate to internal and external customers by providing the support services for the scanning of glass parts for part approval and relevant requirements and to supply the necessary reports and information as required.
To effectively manage additional continuous improvement and adhoc projects in order to drive continuous improvement and project support within product engineering.
To ensure staff are effectively managed and held accountable through performance and disciplinary procedures, and that staff are developed and mentored to drive capability in the business.
Ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support effective decision making for the business.
Critical job requirements
Qualification(s)
Grade 12
National Diploma in Engineering or equivalent
Knowledge
Good understanding of Technical and Quality requirements
Practical working knowledge of 3D Environment
CAD Drawing
Computer literacy (MS Office packages at a basic operational level).
