Widney Transport Components is a supplier of specialist commercial vehicle glass and sliding window solutions. The company supplies solutions to the bus and train industry and is the only local accredited sliding window supplier for Toyota, Daimler Chrysler, General Motors, Nissan and Ford.

 

Main job purpose

Provide HR support, direction and advice to support the business plan and drive world class HR practices.

 

Main Objective

  • Delivering an effective and efficient HR and employee relations service to the business to support the overall business plans.
  • Drive all recruitment and promotions in line with laid down procedures and with due consideration with both the employment equity process and talent management process.
  • Implement the training and development plan in line with policies and procedures, training budget and timing requirements.
  • Assist and advise line management in all aspects of labour relations and to timeously assist with queries to support sound employee relations.
  • Ensure effective communication with relevant stakeholders including Shopstewards and Union Officials to facilitate sound relations.
  • Provide guidance and support for performance management in order to give effect to the business requirement of ongoing performance improvements.
  • Monitor and assist managers where necessary to improve one-on-one interactions or performance management meetings through regular auditing and "watching the game".
  • Ensure that all relevant legislative requirements are adhered to in order to minimise unnecessary risk for the business.
  • Ensure all relevant reporting requirements are accurate and submitted timeously.
  • Ensure SAP HR System integrity is maintained at all times through accurate data capture and audits of the system.

 

Critical job requirements

  • Grade 12     
  • Relevant diploma in Human Resources, Labour Law or Industrial Psychology
  • 5 years generalist experience      
  • 3 years experience in manufacturing environment or other highly unionised environment

  • Recruitment and Selection procedures
