Hot End Coordinator

PFG is the leading manufacturer of float glass in Southern Africa, as well as laminated glass and mirrors. The company produces 260 000 tons of float glass products per annum, supplying into both domestic and international building and automotive industries.

Main job purpose

To lead & effectively manage the Hot End operations and ensure the constant achievement of PFG targets and standards through the effective optimisation of human resources, financial resources, equipment and systems & by ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation.

Main Objective

• Optimise productivity, ensure that Hot End parameters are controlled to the required targets by adhering to work instructions, safe work procedures and Standard Operating procedures.
• Ensure that there is full staff complement at the start of the shift for effective operation of the line.
• Feedback to line management by reporting all the events and losses of the day to ensure that management is kept abreast of the line performance.
• Taking responsibility on all industrial relations matters in line with the company's disciplinary code of conduct to ensure consistent application of the rules.
• Identity training needs and train personnel for multiskilling, job rotation and succession planning.
• Ensure World Class Manufacturing pillars are in place and achieve targets as per team work, VPM, Focus Improvement and 5Sprinciples.
• Maintain SHERQ standards by ensuring compliance to health and safety rules, monthly safety inspection, risk and task observation, incident/accident investigation to strive for a downward trend on LTIFR and IFR targets.
