Manufacturing Operator- Springs

PFG is the leading manufacturer of float glass in Southern Africa, as well as laminated glass and mirrors. The company produces 260 000 tons of float glass products per annum, supplying into both domestic and international building and automotive industries.

Main Job Purpose:

To manufacture good laminated glass and achieve the daily production targets while ensuring uninterrupted supply of raw material to the production lines and finished goods to the customers.

Main Objective:

• Supply raw materials (glass and vinyl) to the production line
• Flop glass and feed the glass into the washing machines
• Assemble the glass and vinyl
• Off-load the assembled laminate onto a cage
• Put finished product into stock
• Load finished product for delivery to customers – internal and external
• Maintaining cleanliness in all sections of the plant

Qualifications:

Grade 12

Skills:

Problem solving

Accuracy

Consistency

Interpersonal skills

Knowledge:

Crane operating license

Glass handling

Off-loading laminated sheets

Experience:                         

Glass handling experience.

Computer literacy and a basic understanding of SAP would be advantageous.
