Main job purpose
Provide high-level and professional technical support and training to manufacturing and sales personnel. Monitor and review daily warehouse and logistics operations with the aim of improving or resolving process related problems and adapt technically sound practices and procedures.
Main Objective
- Conduct Audits to ensure that processes adhere to set standards.
- Design logistics handling equipments (pallets, grabs, glass frame, lifting systems), using sound Engineering principles to improve glass handling and storage.
- Gather and analyse information, identify deviations from standards and recommend corrective actions to maintain process stability.
- Keep abreast of current standards and technology and implement where possible to maintain state of the art warehousing and logistics.
- Design glass packaging, container loading methods and warehouse layout to improve Logistics systems within PFG Building Glass.
- Interact with customers regarding glass customer complaints which include breakages, glass faults and glass stain.
- To control glass stain within the warehousing by ensuring powder and liquid applicators adhere to set standard.
- Ability to design on Autocad and do mechanical calculations such as Strengths and Load balancing in order to improve safety, save cost and/or time and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Comply with the International & Local Standard within the area of operation.
- Liaise with different departments within the organisation in order to resolve internal and external customer complaints
Critical job requirements
- Grade 12
- BEng or BSc Mechanical/Civil Engineering
- 2 Years Process Technology environment
- 2 Year Manufacturing Environment knowledges Process Engineering or Logistics
