PFG is the leading manufacturer of float glass in Southern Africa, as well as laminated glass and mirrors. The company produces 260 000 tons of float glass products per annum, supplying into both domestic and international building and automotive industries.

 

 

Main job purpose:

The purpose of the job is to manage finished goods stock in laminates, coordinate with the logistics service provider and ensure that deliveries are made on time. To close the loop between the physical production and the planned production by checking that the stock and production orders reflect what was planned in SAP and actually made on the production lines. 

 

Main objective:

Manage finished goods stock accuracy by ensuring that regular stock takes are done correctly (by verifying the stock coordinators stock takes), tying up production planning and actual production, and doing visual inspection of the glass in stock in order to ensure that the stock is available for sale.  

Ensure efficient deliveries by coordinating CSC, fleet managers and production planning in order to satisfy customer demand.  

Coordinate production planning, CSC and production activities by using SAP reports and Physical stock counts in order to fulfil the requirements of stock keeping and customers.  

Maintaining good housekeeping by interacting with the cleaners, waste management and driving 5S principles through the team leaders in order to have a world class manufacturing site.  

 

Critical job requirements 

Qualifications:

Diploma in Production Management / Logistics or related 

 

Knowledge:

In depth working knowledge of Relevant legislation (SHERQ, BCEA, LRA) 

ERP proficiency

5 years in logistics and stock control 

2 years leadership experience
