VACANCY: Quality Assessor - Shatterprufe Neave

 

A vacancy for Quality Assessors has arisen at our Shatterprufe Neave plant in Port Elizabeth.  This is a General Staff position reporting to the Quality Technician. 

Main job purpose

 

Responsible for ensuring that decisions regarding product quality are consistent with product fit for purpose criteria in order to minimise financial loss due to non-conforming products.  

 

 

Main Objective

 

 

Responsible for assessing reject product to determine if quality level is sufficient for fit-to-purpose using guidelines and initiative/ experience to minimise non-conformance losses while limiting the incurring of any customer complaints and product returns.   

Issue reports required on a shift basis as a means to provide feedback to production and process managers, and shopflor personnel to enable them to rectify faults and to determine root cause analysis (to ensure management can focus on corrective and preventative action). 

Presentation of physical faults found to Inspectors (same as reports above)to ensure management can attend to corrective and preventative action.

Responsible for carrying out destructive testing on production samples of PU applied components to determine bonding strength in order to prevent product being shipped that does not meet structural bonding requirements so as to prevent customer complaints.  

Responsible for controlling label printing for parts that have missing or damaged labels to ensure that parts are correctly labeled to minimise wrongly labeled in order parts going to the customer.  

Ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support effective decision making for the business.

 

 

 

Critical job requirements

 

Qualification(s)

 

  • Grade 12
 

 

 

Knowledge

 

  • Working knowledge of all markets that SX supplies and their quality requirements
  • Knowledge of types of faults and their progression
  • Knowledge of relevant specifications (QAS001, ISN0002, ARG specifications)
