Quality Manager - Shatterprufe (Port Elizabeth)

Shatterprufe® is the leading manufacturer and distributor of OE Auto and aftermarket replacement glass products. The company manufactures genuine Shatterprufe® laminated windscreens and Armourplate® toughened automotive safety glass products. Three automotive glass plants manufacture over 4 million pieces of laminated and toughened glass a year for customers worldwide. Shatterprufe® products are installed by Original Motor manufacturers in Southern Africa.

Main job purpose

• To coordinate and manage the site Quality Assurance Department and Quality Control function by ensuring that the Companies Policy related to Quality is adhered to at all times, ensuring that timeous corrective action is taken upon identification of non-compliance to systems, products or process and to support Shatterprufe in being a world class supplier automotive component.

Main Objective

• To ensure internal quality work standards are maintained and aligned to customers specifications to ensure sound customer relations. 
• To liaise with customer for specifications, complaints, developments and approval documentations in order to ensure sound relationships with the customer.
• To ensure staff are effectively managed and held accountable through performance and disciplinary procedures, and that staff are developed and mentored through the talent management and IDP processes to drive capability in business.
• To ensure efficient and effective document management and systems management in order to ensure compliance to customer standards and safety critical product compliance.
• Ensure weekly, monthly and annual data trends reports and presentations are communicated to relevant parties to ensure all KPI controls are in place and corrective actions are facilitated.
• Be able to conduct internal process and system audits to specific requirements and to host 2nd and 3rd part audits.
• Ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support effective decision making for the business.

Critical job requirements

• Grade 12     
• B-Tech in Quality / relevant technical degree
• 8 years experience in a quality environment     
• Experience in conducting and hosting audits    
• 3 years managerial experience
• 5 years Automotive Industry        

Knowledge

• Sound working knowledge of Quality Management Systems         
• Knowledge of Statistics
• Core tools (APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA and Control Plans)
• Sound working knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements
• Internal system and process auditing
