SQC Coordinator- Springs

PFG is the leading manufacturer of float glass in Southern Africa, as well as laminated glass and mirrors. The company produces 260 000 tons of float glass products per annum, supplying into both domestic and international building and automotive industries.

Main job purpose

Ensure at all times that manufactured glass comply with the required product specification from respective customers, minimize customer complaints and promote customer satisfaction by ensuring minimal quality loss.

Main Objective

• Identify, report and issue a reclassification note for non-conforming products for production to investigate the root cause to prevent the defective product from being transferred into stock by capturing into Sap/Antares system for management decision.
• Coordinate the activities of the Quality Examiners and Inspectors to ensure that the quality assessments are executed and recorded accurately in the Management Information System. 
• Perform striagram test for Process Technology to verify the correctness of the batch mixture for product acceptability.
• Coordinate activities of workers engaged in testing in order to control quality of manufacture and to ensure compliance to specification.
• Ensure shift complement is sufficient for effective execution of planned activities by accounting for present employees during shift handover. 
• Train and coach the Examiners and Inspectors to ensure competence and adherence to quality standards. 
• Maintain SHERQ standards by conducting incident/accident investigation, risk assessment, task observation and 5S to minimize safety risks.
