PFG is the leading manufacturer of float glass in Southern Africa, as well as laminated glass, mirrors, and sealant products. The company produces 260 000 tons of float glass products per annum, supplying into both domestic and international building and automotive industries.
Main job purpose
Continuously carry out inspection on the product to ensure fitness for purpose according to the customer specification by reporting regularly on the state of the glass.
Main Objective
- Perform inspection in accordance with the laid down test specifications and procedures ti identify non-conforming products.
- Report on the state of the ribbon / glass verbally and in writing for record keeping.
- Liaise continuously with the shift Coordinator / Management to ensure efficient running of the shift.
- Capture test results on SAP and forward to production / process technology.
- Assist in investigation of complaints concerning defective products.
- Record QC inspection data for future reference.
- Scan glass products into stock and control the glass that goes into stock.
- Inform Management of all non-conforming products and quality related issues.
- Maintain sound industrial relations, ISO and Health and Safety standards.

Experience
1 year experience gained in a Quality Control and Management environment.
