SQC Team Leader - Springs

PFG is the leading manufacturer of float glass in Southern Africa, as well as laminated glass and mirrors. The company produces 260 000 tons of float glass products per annum, supplying into both domestic and international building and automotive industries.

Main job purpose 

Manage the quality department' to ensure that the glass manufactured complies with the requisite standards to comply to customer specifications  

Main Objective 

• Co-ordinate the activities of the Quality Examiners and Inspectors to ensure that the quality assessments are executed and recorded accurately in the Management information System  
• Report on and escalate any deviations to Operations and Quality Management  
• Represents the quality department at the Daily operational meetings to ensure adherence to quality standards and processes  
• Validate the data in the Fault Marking Identification System to ensure accuracy and compliance  
• Direct and investigate data pertaining to defective products to ensure that complaints are timeously addressed  
• Train and assess the examiners and inspectors to ensure competence and adherence to the standards  
• Manage the safety system within quality to ensure that risk assessments, work instructions and standard operating procedures are implemented and adhered to  
• Manage the calibration and maintenance of the inspection and testing equipment  
• Administer the time keeping system and address deviations through disciplinary procedures to ensure corrective actions are taken as well as accurate payment of normal and overtime hours  
• Responsible for the training records and performance management of the quality team  

Critical job requirements  

Matric 

Relevant National Diploma 

5 years of work experience within Glass Manufacturing 

3 years’ work experience in Management 

Knowledge
