Job Title: Screening Operator - Cape Town

 

Main job purpose

 

Operating the screening machine, ensuring that production and quality targets are met

 

Main Objective

 

  • Receiving production orders and job instructions from supervisor
  • Handling, cleaning and inspecting glass coming from processing for quality defects
  • Verify size, colour, type of substrate and colour of ink from job order to ensure that the correct colour is screened.
  • Start machine to verify setups and adjust machine controls to alter alignment as per glass type and customer product specifications
  • Properly make substance/RAL colour changes to the silk screening machine when needed without causing quality issues
  • Review process instructions as per job card and drawings
  • Print job maintaining optimum production rate, colour density and quality standards according to customer specifications and silk screening standard operating procedure
  • Maintaining continuous inspection of job specifications and quality throughout production run, collecting production run samples as required.
  • Screen proof sheets, verify that colour matches against job order and secure supervisor’s approval prior to production run.
  • Follow all safety and standard operating procedure (SOP)
  • Perform minor routine maintenance and repairs on the silk screening machine when necessary (Cleaning the bed) and operating the glass drying machine
  • Maintain daily production record such as quantity, dimensions, square meters, cubic meters and material type by means of a standardised production sheet
  • Scan and confirm every good glass before sending to the next station and scrap rejected glass in order to make replacement
  • Sign off job card after completing the job
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized area at all times
  • Properly handle all chemical within safety guidelines
  • Screen glass according to daily production plan received from the supervisor
  • Verifying that the proper quantity has been printed before cleaning and breaking down for the next job.
  • Ensure that every glass moving to the next station is properly labelled and accompanied by the right job card and drawings
  • Helping out with other production/operations duties depending on glass production requirements

 

Job requirement:

Matric

 

Experience:

1-year glass processing experience

Glass handling and quality control

 

Skills:

High sense of emergency

Good analytical and numerical skills

Computer literacy

Ability to rea, understand and understand 2D drawings

Proficient un the proper use of precision measuring equipment

Basic understanding of the mechanical/ electrical operating system of a cutting machine

 

Attributes:
