Raw Materials Operator - Springs

PFG is the leading manufacturer of float glass in Southern Africa, as well as laminated glass, mirrors, and sealant products. The company produces 260 000 tons of float glass products per annum, supplying into both domestic and international building and automotive industries.

Main job purpose

To ensure effective raw material management and optimization of the production line by controlling the distribution of raw glass and vinyl to the laminates production lines.

Main Objective

• Receiving and inspection of raw glass from logistics, booking it into stock using the SAP system for correct placement in the warehouse.
• Receipt and off-loading of vinyl containers, loading and issuing of vinyl to the production line.
• Daily and weekly stock taking on SAP for raw glass and vinyl.
• SAP system housekeeping daily.
• Sampling of defect materials.
• Maintain all material control records by capturing into SAP system for record keeping.
• Maintain SHERQ standards through effective housekeeping and WCM principles.

Qualifications: 

Grade 12

Certificate in logistics/inventory management

Knowledge: 

Inventory Control

10 Ton Forklift License

Overhead Crane License

MS Office, Word, Excel

SAP – Inventory control

Experience: 

2 Years of experience in raw materials handling & Inventory Control
